Joining Requirements For Associate
''AMDA''
Experience Requirements (Choose One):
Route A (Qualified):
0 years minimum. You can join immediately upon completing your formal qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds, or equivalent apprenticeship). This tier covers your first 3 years in the industry.
Route B (Time-Served):
2 years minimum. You must have at least 2 years of demonstrable, full-time trade experience to join without formal qualifications.
Assessment & Requirements:
Pass the MDA Basic Entrance Assessment (A straightforward, multiple-choice test focusing on essential Health & Safety, COSHH basics, and standard site preparation and finishes).
Agree to uphold the MDA Code of Conduct.
Provide proof of basic Public Liability Insurance (if trading independently).
Joining Requirements For Member
''MMDA''
Experience Requirements (Choose One):
Route A (Qualified):
Minimum of 3 years of active trading experience, plus formal qualifications.
Route B (Time-Served):
Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable, full-time trade experience (no formal qualifications required).
Assessment & Requirements:
Pass the MDA Technical Exam (A practical multiple-choice exam focusing on advanced surface preparation, choosing the right products for specific problem-solving scenarios, and flawless application techniques).
Agree to uphold the MDA Code of Conduct.
Provide valid proof of comprehensive Public Liability Insurance.
Supply 3 verifiable client references or links to established, positive business reviews (e.g., Google, Trustpilot).
Joining Requirements For Fellow
''FMDA''
Experience Requirements (Choose One):
Route A (Qualified):
Minimum of 10 years of active trading experience, plus formal qualifications.
Route B (Time-Served):
Minimum of 12 years of active trading experience (no formal qualifications required).
Assessment & Requirements:
Comprehensive Portfolio Review: Rather than a standard exam, applicants must submit a detailed digital portfolio of high-end, complex, or specialist work for peer review by the MDA board.
Pass the MDA Advanced Scenario Assessment (A short-answer assessment demonstrating advanced project management, complex problem-solving, and site leadership).
Provide valid proof of comprehensive Public Liability Insurance.
Demonstrate an immaculate trading history with a commitment to continuous professional development.
